John Baymore in his studio trimming a platter using a kana type tool.Flaming "J"ohn Baymore has been creating the finest in handcrafted stoneware pottery here at River Bend Pottery in Wilton, New Hampshire since 1977. Most of his work is fired in a large wood fired noborigama kiln.

Influenced by Japanese folk and studio pottery of the 15th through 21st centuries, John's work is contemporary, yet timeless. Surfaces range from unglazed clay with fused ash deposits documenting the path of the wood flame in the kiln, to subtle earth tone glazes often layered over inlaid colored clay patterns, as well as the occasional bright red and green overglaze accent.

Visit his Wilton, NH studio showroom and you'll find unique pieces suitable for most any decor, including some Japanese-style forms for food and drink not readily found in the United States.
