Heaxgonal Platter with inlaid slips

This hexagonal plate is handbuilt. It has impressed patterns that were inlaid with colored clays and then scraped flush with the surface. It is glazed with a nuka-type (rice hush ash) glaze. #655

John adapted this technique into his own work after visiting Mashiko, Japan.
