This wood fired mizusashi (water container) has a lightly blushed Shino glaze that shows great variations in coloration in response to the wood ash deposits it has received. The piece was thrown on the wheel, faceted while wet, and the shape was then altered. The lid, which is topped with an organic looking knob, shows significant ash deposits.
