This rough wood fired yunomi has an incredibly rich tactile as well as visual surface. It is composed of a claybody that is mostly gravel rocks from a deposit along the Souhegan River behind John's studio. This piece has been through six full firings in the noborigama (over 300 hours of firing time) in order to achieve these unique qualities. Yakishime finish (unglazed), except for a fine patina of ash. This bowl is a pleasure to explore with the hands. Comes with documentation and an (optional) signed wooden storage box. #7023
